This was a great trip to a great place that has taken place in the middle of May 2008. We started it on Friday just before 4PM in Stacey's brand new Jeep - it was our first road trip in this car. After a lot of traffic we have arrived at Big sur around 10:30PM. The last 50 or so miles of highway 1 (PCH) are very turn rich and cause a lot of delays. We stayed up past 3AM by the fire. On the following day we went for a short hike which was to a view point above the ocean. Great views were the reward for a gain of about 1600ft. We also saw a waterfall which is more or less the symbol of Big Sur. Later on during the day a group of us went to a water hole - up a river. There we swam in somewhat cold water for about 1h. After eating some more food we went to a bar to have some great time. Around midnight we went in two cars to the beach to enjoy it in the dark - illuminated by almost full moon. This great day was finished off with a long conversation by the fire which lasted past 4AM. In the morning we all had great breakfast - pancakes! After packing all our gear we were on the way back to LA. While on the road I have taken many pictures of the scenery seen from PCH. About 50miles from Big Sure, due south, we stopped at Elephant Seal beach where we saw many seals on the beach just resting - way better way to se seals than the zoo - you see more than 1000 in one spot. After fighting with some traffic we were back at LA around 7PM. This was a wonderful trip full of adventure.
