Joshua Tree Verdi January 2008 climbing trip

On January 25th 2008 me Mary, Stacey and Kevin went in Mary's Honda CRV to JT. We planned to start our trip at 2PM but things got a bit delayed, we run into some traffic and finally arrived at 8PM. After some quick dinner/ supper thanks to very tasty soup provided by Stacey we were ready to socialize with everyone else who came to JT on Friday. After 4h of having fun we went to bed, me Stacey and Mary had our 3 person tent. On Saturday we had lots of fun climbing with me doing 3 climbs and completing all of them. With some more practice I should be able to do 5.8 in the same amount of time it takes Lumme. At the end of climbing I had a ride on the zip line - this was very exciting. I didn't listen 100% to Scott's warning about melting glove and discovered it takes just 2 seconds to burn a hole through. Saturday night part was very exciting with tons of great food, fire shows and games. The barbecue was great and it was a long time since I had such great stake - thanks Stacey. In the game competition me and Mary won the barrel race thanks more to my light weight then my ability to lead. Overall great night which I will remember for a very long time - everyone was asking when the next event will be held. During the night we got a lot of rain - there was a small river flowing right through our tent. On Sunday morning I was the only person cooking some food - everyone else left before noon as the rain dampen any hiking enthusiasm. I got home before 3PM and after almost 1.5h of cleaning got all my gear sorted out and ready for another exciting trip. Once again, thank you Verdi for setting up such a great trip, it was my best JT trip so far.
