The are many squirrels in the Algonquin Park and all of them more or less resemble the one in the picture. They are smaller than squirrels that are present in Toronto. There are so many of them that when you walk in the forest you can hear them running around every minute or so. This constant noise prevents one from concentrating on the lookout for other animals - you just assume that another squirrel made the noise. The picture you see was taken from about 2m - this was a very brave squirrel, all her friends would be long gone if I went so close.
